Where does the urine go?
The synthetic grass system is not much different than natural grass. It washes through the system and into the ground. The holes in the bottom of the turf allow water to pass through the turf system and into the crushed rock base below.
How do you clean it?
It really doesn't need cleaning, but you can wash most anything off with a hose.
Can you remove pet odors?
Mixing equal parts bleach and water into a pump sprayer and then spraying the turf surface will remove odors. This is usually only necessary when there are many dogs on the turf, such as a kennel.
Will dogs think it is grass?
Dogs love it! Many dogs won't do their business on rocks, cement, or other surfaces, but they will on grass….that includes ProGreen Synthetic Grass. Who says you can't fool Mother Nature!
Will dogs try to dig a hole in it, like real grass?
Some dogs will try to dig through anything. ProGreen turf is extremely durable and nearly impossible to tear - but there are exceptions. We put extra border stakes around the sides to prevent animals from trying to dig around the edges. Normally, border stakes are spaced 36" apart. If you pet likes to dig we recommend spacing the stakes every 6" apart.
